Diane Kendal (MAC): "The boys were influenced by the American West—sun, sand, Indian fabrics—and they wanted to keep that influence in the face. So we’re doing really warm skin tones, very blended, with eyebrows brushed out and slightly feathered. The eye is a taupe-y stone, blended out—I actually used a lip pencil, in Stone—and lips are toned down. This kind of bold, strong, ‘no makeup’ makeup look has definitely been a trend so far this season."

Marc Jacobs:
Francois Nars (NARS): "We’re doing 1970’s glam updated to a more modern version, but still taking all the codes from the 70’s, like no eyebrows, greasy, very lacquered eyes, with a twist of making it look a little more ‘today’/2010 by doing transparency in the skin—a little glow—and very matte lips."

I have been stalking Burberry in the count down to their runway show, BTW we are at 11 hrs and 24 mins until its streamed live. Will I be setting my alarm clock for 3am to view it exclusively? No, I will look on Style.com tomorrow like everyone else, but it is still really cool that they stream it directly. In fact it’s just another sign that Christopher Bailey is an incredible modernizer right? He and the team at Burberry have started taking orders of the catwalk pieces from all over the world straight from the runway streaming. Insane right?

I don't take too many celebrity hobbies seriously, well except for Lindsay's drinking and Michael Jackson's childcare ambitions but in the case of the Olsen twins fashion line, The Row, I think we may have to. Check out the pics of their collection from New York fashion this week. There is far too much fur and too much mustard for you to think they aren't being totally serious with this new career move. I have to say I like most of it but it definitely reads as a history of their red carpet outfits. They are obviously just making what they like to wear but who cares I would too.

I have NEVER met someone who was Swedish and modest. Once we shot a Swedish model who kept trying to do the shots without her top on. It was a long day as it was a winter shoot and every outfit definitely needed a top. Anywho, the Spring 2011 Rochas collection was described as just that: Swedish modesty.
I think the collection is really cool although a little heavy at times for Summer. The last shot below is my fave outfit. The prints and the glasses are rocking.

Mary McCartney's book 'From Where I Stand' is definitely worth a look if you ask me. She is a photographer and sister to the lovely Stella McCartney and has built herself quite a collection. This includes Kate Moss, Daphne Guiness and Bjork just to name a few.

“I wanted to pick shots that stand alone,” says McCartney of the images she selected for the book. “I like the photographs of other people that inspired me to be a photographer that make me think: Who was that person? Where was this picture taken? What was the feel behind it? What the emotion behind it? Those are the things that intrigue me and drive me as a photographer.”

I knew from the beginning that Collette would be my favourite part of Paris. I must admit though, even I had underestimated it's retail magnificence. I went there four times in my first week alone.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Balmain, Christopher Kane, Hermes, Burberry, Proenza Schouler, Lanvin etc were all housed in the one room. I was salivating to the point that I thought that they might ask me to step away from the expensive leather pieces. Maybe they should start water proofing them just in case I visit again.

Even without all of those labels it is still so cool. There is a great collection of art books and cool cds as well as a super beauty department downstairs. Also the cafe downstairs was really only one of the two places that actually served a decent coffee in France. The second being Cafe Ruc but that cost an arm and a leg, literally its worked out to be $25 for two flat whites. Ouch!

Why dont we have stores like this in Sydney.

Anywho the point is I could live there, honestly.

"Everything’s just going so well with the label at the moment, particularly with 'The Accordion Girls'. What I’ve been doing is really focussing on doing great product – the aesthetic of the product as well as the quality. And our products are amazing - it’s selling out. We’ve had reorders on mycatwalk.com.au before we’ve even dropped the product into store. Twice. They’re substantial, massive reorders and our own online boutique is going over target every week so that was a great indication that a store is going to be well received," Alice says.

I have all of your faves from Paris Fashion Week, Christine Centenera, Susie Bubble, Lily Donaldson, Alexa Chung, Olivia Pallermo etc just to name a few but do treat this as a lesson in Paparazzi 101. It is hard to hustle the paps at these events I have learnt so please excuse the fact that these simply aren't very good photos. At least you know that I haven't ripped them right of the Sartorialist right?

Charlotte Dellal looks so elegant in this look. It really suits a fiery red head. Meow!

Anna Dello Russo's pins are in mint condition. I love her crazy braids with this leopard print wizz bang of a dress. If you have it flaunt it!

Hot tomale! Leather is everywhere and on everything in Europe. The belt and harness confuse me here but that doesn't mean I don't like it.

More leather but put together in two opposing tones. Divine! Christine always gets it right. I must admit I had a hard time getting passed all of the Japanese bloggers to get her pic. They love her!

This girl's blouse was so pretty and was made with lace and pearls. I thought it was vintage but she had made it herself. If only she had picked better shoes this outfit would score a nine out of ten.

This chick from Philadelphia was a shape shifter and a half. I saw her three days in a row and she looked so different everytime. This look suits her much better than the grunge look she wore the day before. She belongs on the seventies show!

This chick was decked out in American Apparel from head to toe. Its so different in Paris as it has so much more vintage than here in Sydney. They also don't merchandise the store like a its a Supre store just between you and I.

I loved this girl's large orange clutch. So daring!

Yes that's right folks I am in love with Paris. Mind you was I ever not going to be? It has been four days and already the city has exceeded all of my expectations.

Firstly, I literally bumped into Karl Lagerfeld on the street. Okay, granted it was Rue Cambon where I knew the Chanel head office was located and I might have been walking up and down it one or two (thousand!!) times just in case I caught him on the way in but still what are the odds? He was as short and powdered as I had imagined but was scooped up so quickly by his security that I didn't manage a pic.

Secondly I was lucky enough to catch the end of fashion week. Obvi there would be no show viewing for little old assistant me but since fashion simply flows so freely around the streets here I stumbled upon two major shows by accident. Firstly, Giambattista Valli and the second Chanel itself. Its so surreal how close you can get to such major events here. I got some great pictures of all the fashionistas and the celebs. Unfortunately my camera isn't connecting to my laptop though so you will have to wait in anticipation for photographic evidence. But, look forward to Alexa Chung, Carine Roitfield, Julia Restoin-Roitfield, Olivia Pallermo, Lily Cole etc So inspiring!

Retail therapy wise I have already burnt a major hole in my budget thanks to Printemps and an amazing vintage store I found in the Marais. I got some great vintage Moschino there tres exciting! Zara is so addictive too, I cant wait for it to hit our shores. I am however zoning in on one main purchase in particular but I want to evaluate all other options before I take the plunge. I feel the exchange is imminent. In other words that means I need to sell my kidney on the side walk near the Bastille first then I can hop on the metro line one and drop the bomb at YSL.

These are behind the scenes shots from another location shoot we did recently. It was set in a field that was full of orange tall grass against a moody thundery sky.Too romantic for words! The styling was gyspy boho and we teamed layers of raw crystal rings and pendants with printed pants and maxi skirts.

Emanuelle the model was french and heavenly. We got her to sit amongst the grass whilst the sun shone through from behind. I would have rolled around in it too if this country didn't have as many venomous creatures as America does fat people.

These are just a few of the many shots coming your way from my trip to Brazil. This one in particular was a swim story about this season's prints. Techno tribal people, keep your eye's peeled for it this summer.

This place was so tropical i was on the look out for Anacondas, mainly because i had been foolish enough to watch the film the night before in my hotel room. It was in Portuguese but I assure you the main concept of gigantic man eating snake (I am also presuming it was not opposed to eating girls either) on a carniverous rampage was clearly portrayed. I managed however to survive the jungle and we came away with a pretty nice shoot.

Its Camel dear, not beige.

It pleases me to see that out of the eight magazines I spent my Sunday dissecting, six of them insist that camel is back for the new season. Why is this good you ask? Camel is for library teaches you say? Its high time you update your fashion understanding. Camel is rhe way of the the future.

Everyone suits camel and beige tones and its easy and cheap to layer them in different ways to get ultiamte wear out of them. Its also a great tone that traverses seasons easily. You can feel as much at home in Camel in winter as you can in Spring. This is jut one example of how designers are finally trying to make their collections work on and off the catwalk this season. So its also bang for your buck. Yeah team camel!!!

Its easy to spot where this trend has evolved from. Firstly, as I mentioned previously and as you may have noticed yourself the seventies is back and this colour tone is an off shoot of this new direction. Secondly, the nudes and pastels wave being enjoyed by all recently has encouraged even the most fashion shy people to shun the safe haven of the figure friendly all camoflauging dark wardobe. Black is not back. Also the global financial crisis may appear to be dimishing in its fury but it has definitely left a bitter taste in people's mouths. We aren't able to spend like we used to or how we want to. If we are going to drop some coin we need to know its going to be worth it. Camel can be for day or night and work or play. Bargain!

Finally, do i even have to spell it out? Dahhhhh its thanks to Phoebe Philo. Its on everyone's lips all the time. C E L I N E! The house's most recent collections have thrust us into the burning desire to be well manicured and overtly sharply dressed in neutral tones, ahhh yep, all the time. You are what you wear and if you wear Celine you are the creme de la creme.

Military in the mountains

This is an old shoot but its such a goodie that I can't go without posting the pics. We went down to Lake George near Canberra sometime ago to find our military selves in the dried up lake bed and fresh air. We came back with some severe sun tan lines thanks to my gumboots, racerback singlet and large sunglasses but more importantly a geat military story.

Tall Poppy Syndrome

Charlotte Dellal is a refreshing twist on a very common story. She is the daughter of a wealthy property developer and of a famous model. She herself is a model and as a result of such genetic blessings is now considered an it girl on the London glamourama scene. This is not an uncommon mix of characteristics. The Hiltons, the Richards, the Geldofs and the Jaggers are all famous daughters of famous parents. At this point I would like to point out that the difference with Charlotte Dellal is that she actually stands on her own two feet. Her own perfectly manicured feet clad in only highest of heels designed all by herself.

Charlotte's killer looks and daring personal style are cleverly and successfully being channelled into her own shoe line named Charlotte Olympia. These shoes are for girls who want to be noticed and for those who feel at home four inches above everyone else. My favourite style is the Dolly canvas pump pictured below. Yikes looks at that instep!

In only her second season it appears she is already loved by Kate Moss and Sienna Miller as well as retail big wigs Browns, Harvey Nicols, Dover St Market, Net-a-porter and I must admit by myself also. Maybe I will buy myself a pair and then book straight into the chiropractor too just incase!

Thanks to the seventies coming hurtling back onto the fashion scene crystal jewellery is now adorning hands of the fashionistas world wide. I first got hooked when I read an article in V magazine about Vogue stylist Giorgio di Sant’Angelo, Veruschka, and her then-boyfriend, photographer Franco Rubartelli shooting in the Arizona desert. http://www.vmagazine.com/2010/03/giorgio-di-santangelo/ in the late sixties.The pictures were fantastic.

The trio created the most impressive looks with only bolts of fabric, fur pelts, and ropes but the jewellery was the best as they made it with stones found in the desert. I'd loved this article and the fashion story and around the same time I started seeing crystal jewellery everywhere

The trend is already big over seas. I love designers such as Vanessa Mooney (http://www.vanessmooney.com/), Dara Ettinger (http://www.darraettinger.com/) and Petra Class (http://www.petraclass.net/). Check out their sites as I presume they all ship to Aus.

Too little too late?

I know you have probably already sussed it all out but doesn't it make me a bad blogger if i don't post about Australian Fashion week at all? To be honest I was really just over it by the end of the week. I think i can face it now but in baby steps.

I'm starting with Dion Lee because I didn't go to that one and this is a good oportunity for me to look/criticise. To be fair, I do like how well thought out his designs are but this collection almost seems like he has thought too much in places. In other words sometimes the construction was a little harsh. Although I favour this over the sloppiness/laziness of others. (I won't name names.)

The colour palette was really fluid and beautiful. Pastel shade s of mauve and baby blue looked fantastic in the natural light. I like the crisp white too which really shot these tones off. This colletion was a great intro to his stance on prints and i think he did really well. In saying that did anyone get the Josh Goot vibe?

He lived in his rent controlled apartment next to Carnegie Hall for nearly 60 years and his experiences there were remarkable. This post title works for two reasons. Firstly my Aunty and Uncle are named Lyn and Tony and they are the two funniest people in the world but also because it is the design duo behind my new favourite accessories label 2 by Lyn and Tony.

I have seen their pieces before but was inspired to check them out properly after watching the Knostantina Mittas show at RAFW last night. Their pieces are truly unique.

This winter denim looks are taking inspiration from cowboys and indians. You don't need to pick sides just have a bit of each. The look is being called Paris Texas. The heart and grit of Texas with the refinement and class of Paris.

Fabrics are thick, tough and texured with heavy ponchos like the above in thick linen or in heavy leather and suede. Denim is back to middle ground in rich blue hues, think Levi or Wrangler. Don't be afraid to double up. It is no longer a no no to double up on denim. PS: Belts and brown boots are a must.

For your Navajo side go typical and get some turquoise! You can find it anywhere as cheapo stores do it or alternatively invest in something authentic from an antique store or turquoise dealer. The best around here is Four Winds Gallery in Double Bay. However, be prepared to drop some serious dough. I'm talking thousands people!

Whilst you are there hit two birds with one stone and get some Pendleton Fabric. Ponchos and rugs in this fabric are to die for. Layer silver jewellery, beads and voila you have achieved Paris Texas.

I owe you because I should have blogged about this yonks ago. Maniamania is the now not so new jewellery range by style extraordiniare Tamila Purvis. In previous years Tamila spent her time as fashion editor at Russh as well as styling for Vogue, Oyster etc. She is a vision in person and a vision on paper. Just look at the campaign shot above. Where does one find that kind of creativity?

The pieces have a prehistoric feel with quartz, leather and brass in organic and raw shapes. I want them all.

Anyone who knows me should know that ordinarily I consider patterned tights strictly for overly sexually active middleaged business women or underly sexually active environmental/political science PHD students. (The only exception to this rule being Leona Edmiston polka dot sheers. These are just plain sexy.) Although I feel they are nice in theory patterned tights only really look good on long stylish legs owned by supermodels. So this winter i have decided no more grunge, no more denim and little to no more opaques. Its clean, preppy schoolgirl all the way for me with socks and blazers and some very strategic layering. Its easy enough to do this when lets be honest we don't get a really cold winter here in Sydney so lightweight cotton shirting and a sneaky shot of thigh wont hurt anyone.

I am thinking light blue cotton shirts, shorts, navy blazers, loads of APC, thigh high socks and minimal jewelry. Also tan leather belts, across the body bags and pleated skirts.Throw a but of military in there too for good luck.

You wont know whether to date me or ground me.

Dont take candy from strangers.

Erdem, Miu Miu and Karen Walker to name a few have all flocked together (forgive the pun i couldn't help myself) and produced some adorable little birdy prints.

Get Girly but don't be a wimp

All things fresh and feminine will be your best buds for Spring time. As the clocks switch and winter starts to roll in keep in mind the light at the end of the tunnel.

Lace is coming for Spring so get ready. Although this is ages away for fellow Aussies a little planning can go a long way especially since we love international trends but don't always see the goods en masse on our home turf. My advice? Get girly but don't be a wimp. That's my take on it. I can show you how... don't be afraid.

I like the dresses from Givenchy above. The boldly coloured shoulder pads are a modern touch. You could easily add them yourself to any old lace bit and or bob. Cream lace is nicer than white as long as its clean cream not old lace curtain cream.

If you feel like a cupcake on her wedding day then keep an eye out for navy lace. Its easier to wear and less girly than lighter shades. You will live in it in throughout Spring.

Brocade is simply irresistible too. Make like a curtain and start blending into floral wall paper. Your nick name needs to be curtain from now on. This can be cool if its done in skinny leg pants, teeny dresses or in polished blazers. Keep hair unbrushed.

Finally, girly shoes by Miu Miu are D to the VINE. I will buy some if you promise not to think I'm a fashion victim??

I may be about to renounce Christianity and start my own cult. Actually, this cult probably already exists but I shall call it Bailey-ism. This feeling has been brewing for a few seasons in fact I may have been born with it but I'm totally obsessed and in love with the new Burberry Prorsum collection. I also, for those cynical readers, know i should have already posted this fashion week related rant by now but i have been really really busy so watch out as the fashion week flood gates are now officially open.

This look is heaven, The perfect mix of neutral tones, tough girl studs, sexy black boots and over sized shearling jacket. Don't get me started on the perfectly un-brushed hair. Military will always be big and get ready for shearling.

If anyone else had put this together it would look like Mrs Maclean, god bless her, our high school librarian. Instead, Mr Bailey made it chic and sexy like its no body's business. It involves the perfect amount of sheer and the most attentive of tailoring.

Boom! Right out of left field. I'm giddy. Seriously.

Okay I'll stop drooling. This shock of blue is right on cue. Droplets of cobalt have been sneaking in everywhere for the last few seasons and finally it has erupted properly. Well, it erupted in that fantastic speech on "The Devil Wears Prada" but, its back again i tell you. In this case its nice to see more boldly coloured trenches as the sugar shades of Burberry's Summer collection were so scrumptious it would be a shame for them all to disappear.

There are no apple bottom jeans but there are boots with the fur. They are divine and they will keep me awake at night scheming about how i may get my hands on them. Fashion week doesn't come with price lists but according to my calculations they will cost my kidney, liver, right eye and first born. But, me thinks it might be worth it.

All this super chic was created by a man. Can you believe it? Men in fashion are positively out of control at the moment. Mmm...that's a great post idea. Stay tuned.

For now I won't post any more pictures and hopefully that will encourage you to go look at the show yourself. Take with you this: when winter hits, rock military in style as you can buy it anywhere and for any price and watch out for fur, leather clothing (chaps not included), shearling and bold colour injections. They will be your best friends.

Gap tooth girls

So, when i was 12 i went through some seriously traumatic orthodontic work. My teeth were forcefully swayed out of the big book of British smiles and onto the straight and narrow. Years (and years and years) later I am over the trauma (cough, Jan Brady taunts) and enjoy my Colgate smile.Some however, went down the road God gave them and kept their gaps. Gap tooth gals are rocking the fashion world right now so watch out!

Think Lara Stone, Georgia Jagger, Jess Hart and Anna Paquin to name a few. Not to mention Lauren Hutton who never lost her cool.

I and everyone else in the industry love this eccentric look and the personal twist they give our shots.

I might also add, blondes are back. Commanding your attention down the catwalk are Hanne Gaby Odiele, Jessica Stam, Lily Donaldson, Raquel Zimmerman. Not to mention Anja, Sasha and Natasha as usual.

I have to admit I thought I was getting too old for festivals. Yes, at the weary age of 23 i was exhausted by Big day out, Homebake and Park Life. By the time Good vibes rolled around I was not keen at all and preferred to stay in bed.

I was particularly O V E R it due to the sheer fact that people at these places annoy me . I don't like when people coordinate outfits, i don't like boys in fluoro Bonds singlets and i don't see why people think its okay to wear ridiculous sunglasses on these days.

Yes I am a festival Grinch but the mass populace generally scares me. Any who my point is that I may be a convert after attending St Jerome's Laneway festival recently. This is like the Glenmore road of festivals as opposed to the Big day out being the Parramatta Westfield of festivals.

Everyone here looked super cool, there were less people and there was no B.O. Isn't that fab?

The whole festival was just an uber cool club of Sydney strolling around and do you know what i liked best?It was the fact that I could not really pick up on any trends because these people were cool enough to wear what they liked not what Kate Moss Ala Glastonbury told them to.

Boys were rocking loads of RVCA jeans and a few cool cats were channelling the Rockabilly look. Girl wise i honestly couldn't tell you as they were all so different. There was a large Russh population, all the showroom girls and tonnes of stylists, including my fave Tamila Purvis. I was certainly staring at them all behind my shades.

Jess Hart Shoot

So, can you recognise those pins from a mile off or what? We had the privilege of shooting the lovely Jess Hart again.

It was stinking hot and Australia day but the girl is such a dream boat no one was bothered.

Look at this amazing house where we shot below. Looks like it belongs in The Shining right?

It was all boarded up down stairs but upstairs were these amazing pink and blue plastered walls with stain glass windows and huge Victorian tiled fire places.

I was in love with the house. I want to be a lady of the manor. Please submit details of eligible British nobility so I can marry myself into a house like this.

Back on the fashion track however, we had a killer team and the pictures were superb. We took her down a different road to most and styled her in nudes and grown up pastel colours. She was not allowed to stick her tongue out or her middle finger up at any point despite the fact she loves to. She looked incredible like this. Usually she styles herself really rock chick in black and leather but this feminine take on her looked divine.

Once again perpetually cool Erin Wasson is making me swoon and drool. This time its with her "user friendly" costume jewelry range with heavy weight Pascal Mouawad.

The pieces continue on her imagined wandering in the desert inspiration train of thought which was also behind her RVCA collection. Yum yum bubblegum indeed. They have Mexican metal work references and are as raw and beautiful as her. I would layer and layer these babies up. They are allegedly going to sell for a minimum of $80 but may be as high as $375 from Miijo. So maybe i will layer one with some diva pieces. Since bling bling money is currently a thing. An imaginary thing.

I am head over heels for this shoot. So graceful and so elegant. The chic braided up do is such a fresh remake of an old fave of mine.

Love to see some shoes WITHOUT platforms for a change.
This styling is a cool take on the mono-chromatic trend that once more is flooding the catwalks. The red shots spice it up and the leather trimmings keep otherwise grown up styling young and sexy.

Bloggle Oggling

There is one thing that is ma-jor about working in fashion and dabbling in the blogosphere and unsurprisingly its about keeping up to the minute/second/milli-second about what's what and whose who. This is tricky! Actually, it is plain right DIFF-I-CULT to do with all of the millions of things any day holds.

Although blogging however is obviously not my full time job there are others who manage their postings really well and are keeping me inspired/jealous/motivated/depressed all in one go.

For instance, Miss teeny tiny Tavi is a complete inspiration. To be that young and that on the pulse is more than impressive but I have been struggling to get our mag recognised by IMG for New York fashion week tickets and although it worked in the end it is really frustrating that despite our years of Australian presence and accumulated experience, a thirteen year old just waltzes right past us and into the front row.

Another example, Jane Alridge aka Sea of Shoes... This makes me want to die. D.I.E. All in all she has fantastic taste which is why she has been heralded by every title around the world starting with V and ending in OGUE. But i would have great taste as well if my bank balance was that generous.

Third example is Bryan Boy who you may or may not know is totally on every one's radar thanks to him keeping EVERYONE so firmly planted on his radar. He is absolutely up to the minute with his news and manages to span the globe despite his off the radar location of the Philippines. Not a fake hand bag or misspelled branded t-shirt in sight but that's probably because he now sits front row at all the major shows. I am jealous naturally but impressed with his diligence.

Yes your eyes are correct. That bag there is a Birkin not a gherkin. Guess which one i can get my hands on. Hint: The one i can afford is green not orange.

At the end of the day Filipino l**y boy with birkin bag, blue haired pre-teen with a mean fashion opinion and the luckiest rich girl in the world equal fashion royalty. Don't let my bitterness and jealousy fool you. These kids are great.

Despite the severe lack of sunshine this alleged 'summer' we still need to keep our peepers protected and decorated in the latest whats what. Go fourth one and all and buy round sunglasses and if anyone asks pretend you heard it here first.

I thought it was weird at first and felt a little unsexy rocking the same look as the creepiest couple of the century John Lennon and Yoko Ono but then as usual the Olsen twins got there and I now feel a little less meek about walking around in previously thought to be very, very daggy small round frames.

If you cant afford Chanel half tones, then you probably also can't afford the extortionate but divine Proenza Schouler specs so shoot for Karen Walker or even Anon. These all do the do with top marks.

If i still have not convinced you to make the switch from over sized Double Bay Mum style specs (probably Ralph Lauren or Oroton.) to the new round take note from this style setter below. Despite her age she is clearly on the beat and rocking this season's shades with style and grace. Although, I am positive she doesn't really realise.

Who is this style guru,this fashionista, this overtly glamourous scene queen you ask? No its not Rachel Zoe but the mother of the perpetually cool Terry Richardson.

Little Leopard.

So, unless you have been napping under a rock on Mars for the last however long you may be aware the leopard print is back. (did it ever leave?) As a fellow feline I admit I have a soft spot for the print but only if done well.

So, I shall take you to school so your attempts at leopard print will be purrfect:

More is less. Please try and avoid looking like Nanny Fine. Do not opt for a leopard print skirt suit with matching headband. I choose to flash a little bit like in a ballet flat, silk scarf or even peeking out on a bra. Repeat: more is less.

There are certain kinds of leopard print, avoid the cartoon looking one or the small/fine one. They end up looking cheap. Get the one that looks as though ripped right off the back of fully grown leopard. That brings me to my next point.

Only wear faux fur, you animal! Do not make me get all P.E.T.A on you. i only kill animals for food and shoes and bags and belts and the occasional Fendi cuff. There are perfectly good faux options nowadays. This also brings me to my next point...

You shouldn't be wearing furry leopard print any way. Its kinda gross except for on shoes. Avoid leopard print jackets and fuzzy leopard things in general. Its too over done and you will look like a Paris Hilton look alike. Nasty... Go for silk scarves, tops, etc not furry jackets.

Never wear leopard print in unnatural colours. The main culprit colourways are pink or blue. This is soooooo year 4. I bet if you wear coloured leopard print you also still own a multicoloured sequin cap and matching sequined coin purse bag too don't you? You know who you are.

My top five leopard prints pieces are:

Bra (Preferably D&G)

Teresa Ruiz leopard print wrist band. (You tie them round your wrist and they are so subtle but cool.)

Natasha silk top (came in blue and ginger, i obviously bought the ginger.)Its fairly over sized and looks great baggy or tied in a knot. Meow.

My random no name brand leopard print umbrella.

The Christian Laboutin leopard print ankle boots. I will never manage to own these but i would step over my own grandmother just to look at them. Even so, donations are welcome.

I am so fascinated by Anita Pallenberg at the moment. Everyone needs an old school muse every now and again and right now Pallenberg has my vote.

Pallenberg was an actress, model and fashion designer who was born in 1944. This is a winning formula for style icon status in my opinion. Check her out.

Pallenberg was the lover of Keith Richards for years during the sixties and seventies. Apart from sharing a bed they also shared a mutual addiction to heroin, a major bummer but expected from that time. We will let that slide.

I love her because:

She managed to woo some serious rock stars +10 points
She was so beautiful and stylish +5 points
She was totally into black magic and witch craft like my pal Stevie + 7.5 points
Russian Roulette isn't funny but she had the balls to play it and i like that. (Note: Its not cool that someone got killed whilst playing with her. Oops! ) +5 points
Pallenberg starred in Barbarella one of the coolest films ever (yes you heard me) +5 points
She attended Central St Martins fashion school in London. The creme de la creme of fashion. Respect= +10 points.
Finally, apparently according to tricky wiki she stills appears sporadically in public as a party DJ. This is hilare, isn't she like 66 years old? +10 points

Ding ding ding we have winner. I want Anita Pallenberg's life. (Minus that awkward Russian Roulette game and the heroin addiction.)

Fashion wise its simple: baggy singlets cut low under the arm to reveal bright coloured bras. Denim short shorts (Note: make its short short shorts) and old school converse with no socks. If you wear socks your friends will call you Milhouse behind your back. Not cool.
Work a Hawaiian vibe in too if possible. No, not a franjipani in your hair you dork, a shirt! Or an old tourist singlet. Keep it cool, I have been wearing a Fijian bitter singlet. It does the trick.

Keep your swimwear sporty. Lisa Marie Fernandez is superbo. Sunglasses should be round a slightly retro. Anon make awesome John Lennon round shades or even the Karen Walker range this summer is hot too.

Enjoy an epic side part amped up at night with some serious hair spray.

If your cold wear a hoodie underneath a denim jacket. I'm also really into denim sleeveless biker vests. Keep all denim faded and as pale as possible.

I am now officially a label lady... but not in the way you presume. Yes, J'adore Dior, Gucci and Prada but right now I am obsessed with labels of the more everyday kind. I am wearing outfits which flash their brand. Yes you will know who i am wearing lately.

It may seem flashy but don't worry I am going back to our roots. I love the classics. If its got the right name I'm in the game. Old school cool. Praise them for standing the test of time and believe me if it isn't classic then this does not work. Ditch Stussy, Billabong and Emily the Strange you want Moschino, Converse, Wrangler and Adidas Originals. Yes, me likey the things you would have found in your Mum's wardrobe twenty years ago. Find them, then plaster them into your outifts. The more the merrier.

So, tell me, what do I do about this?

I want them, I positively need them but I just think there are some things you need to leave alone. These boots are something to aspire to and look at aren't they? Not something to buy and consequently starve for. You would end up wearing them to death and people would start to pay you out. Such impractical and extravagant purchases are reserved for people who can afford to wear them once and once only right?

Dear Derek,

I recently took time out to explore your Summer 2010 collection in depth. I have to admit I am one smitten kitten. Your attention to fit and silhouette is more than impressive and the colour palette for the collection is fresh and young.

I feel you have effectively catered to all audiences as you have super sexy pieces mixed in with more demure pieces. I think this deserves a pat on the back.

Furthermore I am in love with the collection's Shoes. Did you do these also? You are very clever.

Stevie Nicks is the gypsy that remains. She is 68 and is still as alluring and mystical as ever. Like so many fashion followers Miss Nicks has been a style icon for me for some time however having recently seen her up close and personal on tour my knees have become even more weaker for her.

The Fleetwood Mac concerto was an absolute blast as every song was an old favourite but despite the epic rock god guitar and drum solos Stevie certainly took the lime light. She had costume changes every few songs which kept me and every other follower more than entertained. Stevie's words and voice were incredibly charismatic but, her personal style is also so appealing. She still channels this witchy street urchin look which she has coined as her own and when the famous artful dodgeresque top hat came out I was ecstatic. She adds dangling scarfs and beads to her microphone stand, her gloves and her tambourine which gives her performance such a personalised touch.

I may explore her look personally... no Velvet corset dresses for me however. i mean mainly just personalised embellishments to dance and play around with at night. Yes that's right watch out! She also had a lot of lace as finishing touches. I love lace. I am going to raid my Nana's place. Oops that rhymed.

Okay, Stevie Nicks shopping list:

lace (pinched from 1 Grandma lane, Grandmaville)
beads (is that great bead shop still at the rocks?)

top hat (too far?)
tambourine (definitely too far but ooh so necessary)

I also thought it was worth noting that at the end of the concert the moon exploded to a gigantic size and was the colour of Mars. Despite the intensive Red wine consumption that day i used my highly scientific and logical mind and attributed this to three possible reasons:

Mars was hurtling towards us in an unprecedented Planet turf war.
I had drank so much red wine that it had leaked into my eyes and everything was going to be a pleasant shade of rose from then on.
Stevie really was a witch and had conjured it up to close the show on a sexy, mystical note.

Yeah believe it it. Anywho I went with reason three.

Georgia May Jagger is everything you would expect from the daughter of Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger. In other words she is all lips and legs. She has started modelling and her rock royalty and covetable looks have meant she is swiftly sky rocketing to the top of everyone's most wanted lists.

She has a really sweet humble persona and great personal style. Love that!

So my wardrobe and I channelled Glam Grunge all weekend and we like to call it "Glunge." Chan Marshall and Slash were my muses which meant skinny minnie legs created by nutcracking tight jeans paired with Doc martens and big messy hair. However, I had less hash and greasy hair and more Sem Sauv and Chanel than my style mentors. Its okay to look grungy as long as you still look clean in my opinion. Ripped jeans and baggy t-shirts look cool but look like you lead a mosh pit not someone who spent too long in the mosh pit. Polished make up teamed with dishevelled clothes is GNARLY. Dirty hair and dirty eyeliner complimenting grubby looking "rock" clothes is BOGAN.
Faded t-shirts look great a little over sized and with a hint of a sexy bra strap on a tanned shoulder. Accessories should be small but layered in multiples, think loads of rings, necklace and earrings that would make a hippy proud. Now that you have been schooled in the art of zen and hygiene rock chic ponder over the below:

This look is nothing new or even that daring but it is definitely a hit amongst Aussie girls. We all love to channel rock chick. Why?

I think that maybe our surf lifestyle translates really nicely into rock and roll chic. Surf brands make denim and t-shirts that work well in Patti Smithesque ensembles and our sexy, salty Bondi beach hair also translates extraordinarily. We like to have fun and experiment and we can do that with rock looks by layering accessories and customising our clothes.

Plus rock and roll will always be sexy. Love it

So, I work pretty hard but to be honest there are certainly days when it ain't so bad. Those long days slogging it out in the office prepping for shoots are all worth it when the shoot turns out like it did in the pics below.

My Chloe bag is no more. Don't Cry for me Argentina it was my own fault. I didn't pay it off in time and David Jones cancelled the lay by. You will be pleased to know however that the hefty some i had already smacked down was refunded to me in its entirety because i lied through my teeth and said i recieved no notice of the impending cancellation. I don't ordinarily encourage such Pinoccio styling but this was a lot of mollah.

I was so depressed that i wondered around aimlessly for a minute... then dropped the earnings in one fowl swoop at the corner shop. Yeehaaaa i lassooed some Lover Pants, a Therese Rawsthorne shirt and some delightgful but obsecenely tight lilac coloured Cheap Mondays.

Moi, a label whore? No way Jose!

Ps... Could David Jones use this as evidence against me for their label?
